Southern Natl Motorsports Park Debut

David took
to the track early Friday morning in the Moon Racing owned #25
powered by Redline Power Rush.  It looked good all Friday as the
car stayed fast and consistent and so did David.  They sat well
inside the top ten in speed for most of the day.  Saturday took on a
different story, as the track changed with overcast weather, and rain
showers off and on through the day.  The team and David struggled to find
a handle on the #25, and fell to around 15th fastest in practice.  They
were still confident for the race and working hard to get back the speed
they had on Friday.  David took the car to a 15th place qualifying
run, giving him some work to do in the main event.

The first 100 lapper was under
way, and David was off to a great start, making up positions on the
inside of the racetrack.  It was side by side racing fighting to get
inside the top ten.  David beat door to door with a couple competitors but
with the constant green flag run, the racing spread out.  David continued
off and on fighting for position.  The handling went away fast, and the
tires wore out because of it.  David was four wheel drifting through much
of the corners, trying to just hold on.  He fell back, finishing 15th in
the first 100 laps that went green flag all the way.

The second 100 lap event started
David in the 15th position once again.  With many adjustments, David was
happy with the car climbing towards the top ten once again.  The high
caliber drivers at SNMP held on with no cautions once again for the whole 100
laps, which hurt David towards the middle of the race.  Davids car was
much faster on a short run, which they didnt see in race conditions all day.
Around lap 50, on the 150 lap old tires, Davids race car once again fell
off.  David drove the ill-handling car again to a 15th place finish just
trying to keep from wrecking in his four wheel slides through the center of
both corners.  All in all David wishes he could have battled for the win
as he usually does, but was very happy in how the team improved the race car between
races.  David and the team believe the next race should produce
better results, with the improvements to the car that the team plans to make
the next couple of weeks.
