David Polenz and the GazZu Energy, On The Run, Sun Drop #33 Chevy Are Geared Up For The Start Of The 2011 Racing Season At Old Dominion Speedway

This Saturday night 4/9/11 will mark the start of the 2011 racing season at the Famed Old Dominion Speedway in Manassas Virginia. David Polenz will be debuting his new sponsor colors of GazZu Energy, On The Run and Sun Drop. After two pre-season test sessions and a successful appearance at the Wellington Rd On The Run store just down the street from the speedway David is geared up and ready to get the tires spinning in the 75 lap Late Model event.

David says he is excited for the start of the season for a number of reasons; his new sponsorship deal is going to enable him to run a full season and compete for the Championship at Old Dominion Speedway as well as to make a few other stops at the Motor Mile Speedway in Radley VA. and the Myrtle Beach Speedway Myrtle Beach SC. Old Dominion has changed to a 10” tire instead of the 8” tire from last season which will make the cars a lot faster and handle much better. He’s got a brand new engine in the car and the team has added a few more people to help with set-up and race day tasks. All of this is very exciting and has brought the team’s confidence level up tremendously. 

The weekend will start with an open practice Friday afternoon. Spectators can get in the bleachers for free and it’s only $20 to get in the pits during the practice session. This is the final open practice of the pre-season and it will be a good chance to come see and meet David up close as he and his team fine tune the car in preparation for opening night.

On Saturday David will be taking to the track in the GazZu Energy, On The Run, Sun Drop #33 Chevy around 12 noon for the start of pre-race practice. David and the rest of the Late Model drivers will be ready for time trials immediately following the time trials of the other 5 divisions on the schedule which starts promptly at 5pm. The first division’s race will be on the track at 7pm. The Late Models are the premier division at Old Dominion Speedway and they are the grand finale race on the schedule of events each night of racing.

Every weekend of racing at Old Dominion Speedway, David and his crew will be handing out free samples of GazZu Energy and Sun Drop Soda to everyone who comes to see them during the post-race pit parties. This would be a great time to get to know David and his team, get an autograph and get a chance to sit in the seat of the GazZu #33.

Entry fee is $15 for adults $6 for youth (6-15) and children under 6 are free. If you go to your favorite On The Run store you can get a family pack of tickets for just $33, that’s 2 adult tickets, 2 youth tickets, 4 sodas, 4 bags of UTZ chips and 2 Checkered Flags.
