David lined up 7th for the feature right next to Mark Mc Farland (he has raced in the Nationwide series and has won many races at ODS). On the start of the race David had an awesome start and was up to 3rd at the end of the first lap, but the caution came out and they lined up for a complete restart which put David back to 7th. On the restart he had a good start, and was able to get up to 5th this time. During the opening laps the racing was very tight and very fast and David was on the move. By lap 6 he was racing in tight quarters with Mc Farland and others and as he cleared Mc Farland for the 4th spot, 2 cars came together in front of him and he had some light contact with them, but he was able to keep going. As the race went on it was obvious that David’s car was very strong and he was just taking his time with the cars in front of him. On lap 24 a puff of smoke came out of the left front of David’s car and the car pushed towards the wall in turn 3 and then again in turn 1. David wasn’t sure what the problem was until a caution came out and he saw the car was running too hot. We had to pull him into the pits and work on the car; evidently the light contact was worse then we thought and the duct work to the radiator was smashed closed which made the car over heat. It took us several laps to fix the car and we got him back out only to have the car over heat again about 10 laps later. To Avoid further damage, we had to park the car for the night which made this the first race this year that we weren’t still running in at the end.
